I have stock that was purchased many years ago through a company plan. How will the cost basis be figured?

I worked for a company where I purchased a few shares of there stock each pay day out of my pay. I have no idea what the cost basis for this stock would be if I sold it, How would this be figured. I lost all the records I had in a fire and the company has gone through many changes since then.|||If you have lost all the records, you put down $0.|||Your company should still have records.

Were these share options?

Your ACB will depend if the shares were bought in-the-money or not.

If you just bought shares at market price, then its just the average price per share.
